About Procurement Services

Our team is made up of 26 CIPS qualified staff with considerable experience in all aspects of tendering and contract management. As a public sector provider, our procurement activity is based around aligning to our customers beliefs, requirements and values in line with delivering value for money and sustainability.

Ethical Procurement and Social Value

Our public sector ethos is underpinned by honesty and integrity and a determination to ensure best value for our customers. Every member of our team has successfully completed the CIPS Ethical Training Programme. We are the only local authority in the north east to have achieved our professional body’s recognition for ethical and sustainable procurement.

As part of the Social Value and Local Wealth Building project recently adopted by Durham County Council, we endeavour to ensure that sustainable products and services are included into contracts wherever possible.
