Description of Service

This SLA allows school staff to navigate the procurement processes with ease, ensuring not only expert advice and guidance but with the potential to make direct awards, call-offs or award via mini-competition to our current contract/framework suppliers for goods, services and/or works; reducing the administrative footprint for schools and allowing school resources to focus exclusively on school matters.

We appreciate that Procurement is a highly specialised area and one that requires significant time and resource. As procurement specialists, we can offer schools a suite of professional services.

What we offer

• Access to a team of professionally qualified Procurement Category Specialists who can provide advice at the point of need.
• Access to contracts secured using the Council’s extensive purchasing power and covered by our own robust Terms and Conditions. This ensures you receive value for money and minimises the risk to your organisation
• Access to regional and national contracts let by the North East Procurement Organisation (NEPO) and other Public Sector Buying Organisations
• Nationally-recognised expertise in delivering contracts offering Social Value and Sustainability. Providing wider benefits to your school, community and local economy, whilst at the same time supporting the local environment

Additional Services (outside of the SLA cost – price on application)

• Where a contract is not in place or a school has a specific/bespoke requirement, Procurement can undertake the tender process on their behalf
• Training on all aspects of procurement and contract management at the point of need. This could be structured to support an individual and/or team to enhance their professional development
• Development of your procurement pipeline and contracts register, contract procedure rules and contract documentation tailored to your requirements

Procurement catalogue

Our SLA allows you access to formally tendered contracts under the Council’s own robust Terms and Conditions minimising risk to your organisation and ensuring you receive value for money.

For health and safety reasons schools are strongly recommended to use our contracts for products such as swimming pool chemicals, cleaning materials, maintenance of PE equipment, etc, as we ensure compliance with current Legislation/Regulation and British Standards.
