Our schools insurance provides cover against a range of risks including property damage and claims from staff or pupils for personal injury.
Our service includes:
- providing claim forms on request
- processing all claims made
- providing advice on policy cover and any other insurance matters
- advising on the outcome of claims if requested
Features of cover
Fire
Damage by fire, lightning, explosion and aircraft. Includes works in progress (County and Voluntary Aided Schools only) and business interruption (where a school hires temporary accommodation eg a demountable, it will be necessary for the insurance officer to be informed.) Public liability
Legal liability to third parties (eg pupils and parents) in respect of bodily injury and loss of or damage to property arising in connection with the educational activities of the school.
Employers’ liability
Legal liability to staff in respect of bodily injury or disease sustained in the course of their employment by the school.
Motor vehicle
Comprehensive cover (where cover requested by the Corporate Director, Children and Young People’s Services).
Officials’ indemnity
Legal liability to third parties in respect of financial loss.
Fidelity guarantee
Indemnity against loss of money or other property belonging to the school, in their trust or custody, for which they are legally responsible, which occurs as a direct result of fraud or dishonesty by staff of the school.
Assault
Death or bodily injury sustained by staff and governors whilst engaged on official school business as a result of assault.
Engineering
Damage to high pressure vessels, boilers and lifts including liability to third parties.
Money
Theft of school money from locked safe or other secure facility.
Libel and slander
Provides cover for staff of the school.
