Cleaning equipment maintenance and repairs service

Young girl drillingOur team ensures that all covered pieces of cleaning equipment are maintained and repaired to manufacturers standards where possible.

What is included:

  • all cleaning equipment is maintained and repaired to manufacturers standards
  • a bi-annual service (one major and one minor service)
  • labour, parts, cleaning and repairs

Cooker maintenance and repairs service

We ensure that all declared gas and/or electrical cookers in the food technology department are maintained and repaired in line with Gas Safe Regulations and manufacturers standards.

What is included:

  • all declared gas and/or electrical cookers are maintained and repaired in line with Gas Safe & Electrical Regulations and manufacturers standards
  • annual health and safety survey and service
  • labour, parts and repairs

Local exhaust ventilation service

The Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) service ensures that all fume cupboards are tested in line with British Standard P601.

What is included:

  • ensure all fume cupboards are tested in line with British Standard P601
  • annual LEV air flow test
  • initial call out for repairs

Portable appliance testing service

The Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) service ensures that all items of portable electrical equipment are inspected and tested to ensure compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations.

What is included:

  • all items of portable electrical equipment are inspected and tested to ensure compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations
  • annual PAT test
  • replacement of fuses and plugs and subsequent retest where necessary
  • work to be carried out in line with Institute of Electrical Technicians (IET) Code of Practice

Radiation monitoring and testing service

Our service level agreement provides cover for radiation monitoring and testing within schools/academies. We address Statutory Legislation under the Ionising Regulations 2017, most specifically Regulation 27. In order to comply with this legislation a Durham County Council Radiation Protection Officer (RPO) will liaise with Public Health England, the Radiation Protection Advisory (RPA) and the Environment Agency on behalf of schools/academies.

What is included:

  • provides annual radiation, monitoring and testing service
  • random spot checks
  • advice on legislation and practice

Workshop equipment service

What is included:

  • provides repairs and installations for fixed and transportable equipment located within Design and Technology workshops and Art departments
  • all work carried out is in line with the British Standards
  • annual health and safety survey and service of all design and technology equipment
  • advice, procurement and installation of equipment
