Become a business ambassador

Are you interested in becoming a business ambassador?

Business ambassadors eventWe are looking for prospective business ambassadors who are interested in supporting the delivery of our work related learning activities in schools – including:

  • enterprise and employability challenges
  • careers events
  • mock interviews
  • advice and guidance about the career opportunities in your sector

The role of business ambassador is fun, refreshing, challenging and ultimately very rewarding for you as an individual as well as your employer. The young people you will be supporting are our future workforce who have the potential to become part of businesses and organisations across County Durham and beyond.

We have opportunities for individuals from a wide variety of job roles in public, private and voluntary sector organisations who can help us to develop young people’s understanding of the world of work, increase their awareness of employment opportunities in different sectors and broaden their horizons. All prospective business ambassadors receive full training and ongoing support from our service.

There are many potential benefits to becoming a business ambassador for you and your employer. For example, the role can help you to increase your confidence and develop networking, communication, mentoring, and presentation skills. It can also provide useful evidence to support your future career progression.

Engaging in our work related learning activities can help your organisation to develop its corporate social responsibility, accessing opportunities to network with other businesses and public and private sector organisations – opening up potential future partnerships; as well as benefitting from positive publicity generated by your involvement in supporting schools and students;
