Using Microsoft Teams for remote teaching and learning

During the school closures, a number of schools have taken up the offer of Class Teams and pupil accounts from ICT School Services. In doing so they’ve been able to stay in contact with their pupils, issue work and deliver online lessons and contact sessions using one platform.

As well as the virtual meeting capabilities, Class Teams come with a Class Notebook providing each student with their own workspace which can be seen only by themselves and the teacher. Using the Class Notebook enables all the work carried out by students during this time to be stored in one place, giving easy access to both teachers and pupils. In addition, each Class Team has its own files area, outside of the Class Notebook, where teachers and students can save documents relevant to the whole team.

Feedback from school staff has been very positive and teaching staff have been impressed with the features available to them in Teams.

Teams is a safe and secure environment which is being continuously updated by Microsoft in response to customer need during this ever-changing and developing time.

If you would like Class Teams set up for your school please contact us via email or the ICT portal.
