Responding to feedback from teachers across the region, Durham Learning Resources (DLR) has launched a new range of graphic novel curriculum support boxes designed to captivate young readers and boost engagement in the classroom.
A recent reading report published by the National Literacy Trust highlighted that boys are reading increasingly less. Upon asking about reading habitats, they discovered that more boys than girls said that they read comics and graphic novels in their free time. Additionally, comics and graphic novels were identified as one of the top motivators for children who do not usually enjoy reading.

With this in mind, DLR have created graphic novel curriculum support boxes, one aimed at Key Stage One and one for Key Stage Two. Within these boxes, you will find a range of genres with something to suit all reading tastes!
