Are you looking to strengthen your digital skills?
Digital skills have been our strength during the pandemic and now more than ever, everyone needs to make sure they have the right skills and knowledge to be able to use them.
Digital Skills for Growth, which is run by Teesside University, can help. They deliver short accredited courses to help give you the knowledge and understanding you need, all delivered fully online and any equipment you need is delivered direct to your door.
Their courses are free to anyone working in Durham or Tees Valley and as a student of Teesside University you will also have access to all of the software you need, so you don’t need to buy anything – everything is provided.
They are providing online courses again from 7 October 2020 and delivered 1.00pm to 4.30pm each Wednesday for ten weeks. Their Let’s Get Coding, Python Style course has been very popular.
Robert Cooper, Esh Winning School said “There was a huge amount of content in the course which was a lot to take in and it may take me a while and a lot of revisiting/practising things to get my head around it all fully but I feel like I have a much better understanding of programming.
“I’ve bought a Raspberry Pi to have a play with as I thought the pygame module we looked at was a good way to continue learning about python though probably a bit too complex for me to take into the classroom just yet. I will continue on with my microbit also as we have some of these in school and it would be great to make better use of them”
