Work recently concluded work on the 61-week project to create a four-classroom extension at Framwellgate Moor Primary School.
Work also included the creation of a new link corridor connecting the adjacent nursery to the main school, renewal of the entire school heating and distribution system, removal of asbestos containing materials coupled with window renewal and the creation of a new headteacher’s office and reception office to the front of the school.
The project commenced on 26 March 2018 and was completed on 31 May 2019. The team encountered numerous challenges throughout the journey with including significant design changes and the need for asbestos removal. There were also problems with the ground condition and drainage. Throughout the duration of the work, the school was fully occupied and this was achieved by working closely with the school undertaking night shift and weekend working, allowing the school to remain fully functional.
We also provided staff training for school employees to ensure they understood how to use the new installations; projectors; lighting and heaters.
