We delivered a new school for Bowburn, comprising of a 540 place primary school for years 1-6, three reception classes and 70 place nursery provision.
Overriding objective to improve the quality of educational accommodation for the pupils of the Bowburn area, to address the shortfall in pupil places, and to support the modern methods of learning envisage by Durham County Council as set out in the ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda.
Design of the school is based on the Department of Education’s Priority School Building Programme standards. The benefits we look to achieve are:
- exciting and challenging project to provide a first class learning facility for the community of Bowburn.
- designed to support the delivery of a primary curriculum and to provide improvements in teaching and learning.
- provide an outstanding school for Durham County Council (DCC).
